James has been a member of the Australian Physiotherapists Association (APA) for over 24 years. He is also a registered Yoga Therapist with Australian Association of Yoga Therapists, and he has a Diploma in Bowen Therapy.


Holistic Physio is a process to HELP you heal, recover from, or manage your health issues, especially related to your movement, pain and musculoskeletal conditions.


It is based upon a more modern neurophysiological (Brain/nervous system) & Bio (body) Psycho (mind) Social (environment) Holistic approaches to assessment and treatment.  Effective results are possible with only a few sessions for non chronic problems.


Holistic Physio is current evidence based and “hands on” physiotherapy.


Therapy may include:

  4. Education and explanation on what is going on and how you can help

  5. Exercise science

  6. Yoga as a therapy (called PhysiYoga)

  11. Bowen Therapy, a gentle “hands on” approach developed by an Australian called Tom Bowen.

All of these modalities have the capacity to speak to your nervous system and initiate a change to move you away from pain, towards  better more normal movement, and aid in activating your own innate healing process.


Essential to the process is for you work in  partnership with your physio to find               

what works best for you, and learn  how to manage the problem

yourself. You learn healthy practices, lifestyle adjustments, exercises, and ways to think to help yourself.
